French jazz pianist and composer Sébastien Paindestre is an experienced and internationally acclaimed musician. He has recently recorded his third album in New York and performed his compositions with the Atlantico band at the famous New-York Blue Note jazz club. Revisiting the repertoire of British rock group Radiohead, he has toured France extensively with his own jazz group, the Amnesiac Quartet, performing at major venues.
His second album, “Tribute to Radiohead vol. 2“, was released in 2013, a year after making the acquaintance of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke when the British group played at Bercy.
He has collaborated with many international jazz musicians and contemporary composers, including Jacques Lejeune (G.R.M) and was commissioned by Studio Canal to write music for (as yet) unreleased silent films by French pioneer filmmaker Georges Méliès.
Sébastien Paindestre’s collection of 24 pieces is intended for the 2nd and 3rd year students. A tribute to such jazz and pop “heroes” as Herbie Hancock, Robert Wyatt, Boris Vian or Radiohead, its esthetics is infused with the typical New-York sound.
The pieces of this collection are arranged in order of progressive difficulty for educational purpose.
(Advanced) C1 students can play the piano part.
