<p>Addressed at an early stage, these new playing modes will readily become as common and familiar to them as any other musical language. No longer apprehended as a difficult issue, these extended techniques will enrich the young musician’s expressive palette. A purposely funny and imaginative approach seemed the best way to help overcome all apprehensions. Each new technique is first discovered through practical exercises then applied in a short performance piece - the musical complement of a regular weekly practice.</p>
